Live fire training component:

• Demonstrate Safety principles

• Demonstrate Marksmanship Skills: The applicant fires live ammunition and must obtain a minimum qualifying score of 70 percent as prescribed by the Secretary of the Maryland State Police. You must bring a qualifying handgun as long as it is in good operating condition. If you do not own a firearm, you may rent one from the range we are shooting at. If a student fails to attend or pass the firing portion of the training for any reason, they must schedule to attempt qualification at the next scheduled Omega Sector Training Wear and Carry Training Class. The cost for re-qualification is $50.

All participants receive a Handgun Permit Training Certificate of Completion and Qualification Score Sheet issued by your MDSP Certified Qualified Handgun Instructor. You will need to submit a copy of your score sheet during your application process.
