Coronavirus Update

ESS is operating under normal business hours for all services.  We ask that our customers practice good judgement if they have been in contact or shown any symptoms of illness.  We are taking additional precautions while conducting all services that may add a few minutes to your visit (additional hand washing, sanitizing equipment, etc).  Please call the office at 443-547-2223 if you have any questions.

We use state-of-the-art equipment, optical fingerprint recognition, verification and identification. We utilize both Fingerprint cards and Live Scan (Electronic Fingerprinting). Our technicians are trained and certified. You can rest assured that you’ll receive the highest quality work and best possible results when dealing with us.

LiveScan (Electronic) Fingerprinting

This service includes capturing fingerprints that are electronically forwarded to the Maryland Criminal Justice Information System and FBI, who then use the fingerprints and personal information to run a complete criminal history record check (CHRC).  From this information, the regulatory agency and employer determine if there is anything in the records that would disqualify the individual from serving in the program/profession/or obtaining the applied license.

To save time while at the office, please print and complete the Livescan Fingerprinting form and bring with you along with a valid photo ID.

However, sometimes these Fingerprint Cards/ Ink Cards are used for Federal Background Checks or in some cases when a Live Scan fingerprint will not go through the normal process you can sometimes use a Fingerprint Card/ Ink Card instead.
